FAQs
CIGS (Copper Indium Gallium Selenide) is a true thin-film technology that offers 360° flexibility without the risk of cell fracturing. Traditional monocrystalline flexible panels have a limited bend angle and are prone to "micro-cracks" over time due to vibrations or heavy wind. Additionally, CIGS panels excel in partial shading conditions—if one part of the panel is covered by a tree branch or AC unit, the rest of the panel continues to produce power much more efficiently than standard crystalline panels.
N-Type TOPCon represents the next generation of solar efficiency (BougeRV’s Arch Pro series reaches over 25%). Compared to P-Type panels, N-Type technology has a much lower Light-Induced Degradation (LID) rate, meaning they last longer and retain more power over 25 years. They also perform significantly better in low-light conditions, such as early mornings, late evenings, or cloudy Canadian days.
It depends on your setup:
- Choose Flexible/CIGS: If your roof is curved, you are weight-conscious, or you want a "drill-free" installation using high-bond adhesive.
- Choose Rigid: If you have a flat mounting surface and prioritize maximum durability and cost-effectiveness per watt. Rigid panels allow for airflow underneath, which helps with cooling in hot weather.
Yes, the bifacial gain can reach up to 25%–30%, but it depends heavily on the surface below. To see these gains, you should mount the panels on high-reflectivity surfaces like snow, white sand, or light-colored gravel. If mounted flush against a dark RV roof, the backside gain will be minimal. They are ideal for ground-mount systems or tilted roof racks.
We generally recommend against mixing different technologies (like CIGS with Monocrystalline) or panels with vastly different ratings. If you must mix, ensure the Operating Voltage (Vmp) is similar for parallel connections or the Operating Current (Imp) is similar for series connections. Always use a high-quality MPPT controller to manage the combined input effectively.
Solar panels actually become more efficient in cold temperatures. Our Rigid panels are designed with reinforced tempered glass to withstand heavy snow loads (up to 5400Pa) and high winds. For mobile users, our CIGS series is extremely resilient to temperature fluctuations, ensuring consistent power whether you're in the Yukon or the Rockies.
